Course description

Sustainable development achieves through harmonizing the inter-connection of economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection. This course is designed as one month field trip learning. It provides how concept of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy has been implemented as means to achieve Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) in the multi-cultural contexts of Thailand. Along the field trip to the northern, southern and eastern part of Thailand, community social issues and the resilience of people in response to global change will be discussed. Participants in this course are introduced a design thinking model in analyzing the socio-economic issues found in the communities. In addition, the participants are required to work in a multi-cultural team for this analytical project, by which communication, leadership and collaboration skills as well as open minded, respectful and cultural awareness attitudes have been employed.
